We launched our site to economically support value aligned, black, and brown producers and farmers while also prioritizing food insecure areas in the DMV.     What is Black Farm CSA?

    • Black Farm CSA is our community supported agriculture program. It is a year-round subscription program where you can receive weekly or biweekly deliveries of farm fresh groceries from our network of Black, Brown, & value aligned producers. Subscribe Today!

    Where do you source your food from?

    • We source the freshest produce & a variety of groceries available from our network of black, brown and value aligned producers. View a list of our producers here: Our Producers.

    Do you have wholesale?

  • How Do I Order Groceries From DOL Grocery?

    • To buy groceries, you must first create an account. To register, click on the "Create An Account" tab, answer the registration questions and click submit. Once you are registered, click on the "Groceries" tab to select the items you want. Once you've selected your items, add them to your cart. Choose your delivery day or pickup location and enter your contact and billing information. Once you have reviewed your order, click confirm and you will be billed on the upcoming Tuesday.

    How Do I Subscribe To A CSA Share?

    • To subscribe to a CSA share, you must first create an account. To register, click on the "Create An Account" tab, answer the registration questions and click submit. Once you are registered, click on the "CSA Subscriptions" tab to select the items you want. Choose your subscription size, order frequency, delivery day or pickup location and enter your contact and billing information. Once you have reviewed your order, click confirm and you will be billed every time you have an upcoming order.

    Is There An Order Minimum?

    • Yes, the order minimum is $15.

    Do I Have To Sign Up For A Minimum Amount Of Weeks?

    • No, there is no time commitment. Once you subscribe you can cancel at any time.

    How Will I Know What Food You Have Each Week?

    • In the Dreaming Out Loud Grocery newsletter, you will be able to find all the produce items you can receive for the current month. If you have created an account you have automatically been subscribed to the newsletter.

    How Does Billing Work?

    • You will be billed on the following Thursday after your order date.

    Is There A Fee For Delivery?

    • Yes, The fee is 6.95 per delivery.

    How Do I Subscribe To A CSA Share?

    • To subscribe to a CSA share, you must first create an account. To register, click on the "Create An Account" tab, answer the registration questions and click submit.     What Types Of CSA Shares Do You Offer?

    • We offer five different types of CSA shares: The Farmer’s Bounty, The Customizable Share, The Ready For Dinner Share, The Fruit Only Share, & The Donation Share. Go to the “Subscriptions” tab to learn more.

    How Can I Cancel My Subscription?

    • To cancel your subscription, Login to your account. Click on the profile icon at the top of the website and select "Subscriptions". From there click options and in the drop down menu select "Request Cancellation".

    How Do I Customize My Customizable Subscription Once I Receive The Email That My Order Is Ready To Be Customized?

    • Step 1) Wait for the email telling you that your order is ready to customize. Then click the link in the email to customize your order OR Go to dolgrocery.org. Login to your account by clicking the profile icon in the right hand corner of the website. Once you are logged in, choose the delivery/pickup location under SHOPPING FOR that you selected for your customized share when you subscribed. Then, Click VIEW ORDER.

    • Step 2) Once you click VIEW ORDER, you will now be able to see all the items in your customized share and will be able to either substitute them or delete them. Click the purple arrow button next to the items you want to substitute and click the trash can icon for the items you want to delete. Add items you want and remove those you don't before Thursday so your order can be delivered next week. Also if you would like, you can add a donation to our organization which is right under the customized items. Then scroll up to the top of the screen and click the RESEND CONFIRMATION button to get an email of the items you chose and your order total. You are able to edit your order before the following Thursday.

    • Step 3) Congratulations! 🎉 You have successfully customized your Black Farm CSA Share! The last step is to wait for your delivery/pickup date!

    When Do I Have To Subscribe By To Receive My Order Next Week?

    • If you subscribe to a CSA share before Thursday you will receive your CSA share next week.

    Can I Put A Hold On My Subscription?

    • Yes, you can place a hold on your upcoming order by clicking on the profile icon at the top of the website and selecting "Subscriptions". From there click "Put Subscriptions On Hold" in the top right hand corner.

    Where Can I Find My Account Information?

    • To see your account information, login to your account. Click on the profile icon in the right hand corner and select from the drop down “account information” to see your address, phone number, email address, etc.

    Where can I find my order history?

    • To see your order history, login to your account. Click on the profile icon at the top of the website and select "Account Activity". From there you will see all of your past orders that you have made and when they are being delivered.

    Where can I find my active subscriptions?

    • To see your active subscriptions, login to your account. Click on the profile icon in the right hand corner of the website and select “Subscriptions”. Look under “Account Subscriptions” and you can see any shares you’re subscribed to.

    Can I add funds to my account?

    • Yes. To add funds to your account, login to your account. Click on the profile icon in the right hand corner of the website and select “Account Activity”. Look for the tab labeled "Add Funds” and using the card on file enter an amount and click “ Add funds from Credit Card”.

  • What Types Of Groceries Do You Offer?

    • We currently offer fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs & a variety of pantry items.

    How Are The Prices At DOL Grocery Set?

    • The prices at DOL Grocery are based on produce coming directly from local farms and producers. The prices are set up so we can support local Black, Brown, & value aligned farmers that are disadvantaged from systematic oppression and pay them appropriately. To help our customers we accept a variety of payment options including: eWIC Farmers Market Benefits (during the WIC Home delivery program) & SNAP/EBT (pickup only).

    Why Should Someone Shop With DOL Grocery Instead Of The Grocery Store?

    • Customers should shop with DOL Grocery rather than a grocery store because we have the freshest, local produce that has been harvested recently and we support the community by not only supporting farmers, but local businesses by selling products made in the community, and creating economic opportunities by hiring within the community.

    Do You Offer Organic Produce?

    • We source our produce from our network of value aligned Black farmers and producers. While many do grow organic produce, not all of them are Certified Organic producers.We work with producers who are good stewards of their resources, including land, water, and labor.

  • Where Do You Deliver?

    • We deliver to all 8 wards in DC & select zip codes in Prince George’s County, MD; Montgomery County, MD; & Arlington County, VA.

    When Is My Delivery Coming?

    • Our Delivery Days are on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. You can expect to receive your order between 8am - 6pm. You will receive a text when your delivery is on the way to your residence and another text when your order has been delivered.

    Are Your Deliveries Contactless?

    • Yes! We deliver the shares right to your doorstep. For commercial buildings or apartment complexes, we deliver the shares per the building’s COVID-19 protocols and your directions.

    Is There A Delivery Fee?

    • Yes, The delivery fee is 6.95.

    How Do You Ensure The Food Stays Fresh After Delivery?

    • We deliver our food with food safe ice packs to keep everything cold. We recommend unpacking your shares as soon as you can once you receive them.

    What Do I Do With The Ice Packs When I Am Done With My Order?

    • You can leave the ice packs out for our delivery drivers and we will pick them up when we drop off your next order.

    What If Something In My Delivery Is Missing Or Damaged?

    • If you have received a produce/ food product that is damaged please contact us at markets@dreamingoutloud.org to make sure we fix the issue.

  • Do You Accept Credit/Debit Cards?

    • Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, & Discover.

    How Do I Pay With A Credit/Debit Card?

    • Once you order or subscribe to a product, select your payment type as “Credit Card” and enter your credit card information. Or once you create an account select “Account Information” click the tab labeled “Credit Card” enter your debit/credit card information and click “Update Credit Card Information”.

    Do you accept SNAP/EBT?

    • Yes, we do accept SNAP/EBT. At this time SNAP/EBT is only available for pickup orders.

    How do I pay with SNAP/EBT?

    • Once you order or Subscribe to a product, you will be prompted to select your payment type. Select “SNAP/EBT” as the payment type and remember to choose a pickup location. SNAP/EBT is only available for pickup orders. At pickup you will pay for your order.

    Do You Accept eWIC Farmers Market Benefits?

    • Yes, during the eWIC Farmers Market Home Delivery program during the year, we accept this payment type.

    How Do I Pay With My eWIC Farmers Market Benefits?

    • Once you order, select your payment type as “eWIC Farmers Market Benefits” and enter your card number and pin in the notes of your order so you can be charged.

    Do You Accept Produce Plus?

    • During the Produce Plus season, we accept produce plus ONLY at our Farmers Markets locations.

    Do You Have A Refund Policy?

    • If you have received a produce/ food product that is damaged please contact us at markets@dreamingoutloud.org to make sure we can fix the issue and refund you.

    • Yes, please visit our “Donate Today!” page to see how you can donate to DOL grocery.
